Castillo de la Luz

This ancient fortress from which the city defended itself against pirate attacks is today the headquarters of the Martín Chirino Art and Thought Foundation, dedicated to the work of the Canarian sculptor. To the historical and architectural charm the property thus adds the attractiveness that Chirino’s talent always incorporates, with a remarkable collection of the most representative of his career.

The Castle of La Luz rises in the Isthmus of La Isleta, between the Port and the Las Canteras Beach. Its silhouette is identified by citizens as one of the symbols of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
